Whenever you fought an enemy, you should receive a battle report that you can find on the right bottom side of your screen. The battle report allows you to see all information such as the amount of xp/gold gained, the number of troops and even the bonuses coming from the skills (attack/defence).
This might help you to take better decisions before launching an attack on your enemy depending on their skills and number of troops.
